Dear Dr Safaei,

I feel compelled to take a moment to share my story with you. After many years without dental treatment, I came to your office as a new patient. The only reason I decided to actually visit a dentist at all, was because I was in excruciating pain from an old dental infection which I had left untreated for many years.

When I was young, I had a very traumatic experience at a family dentist office and I have been petrified since that time. People who have not had bad experiences in a dental office cannot understand the absolute terror I feel when I even think about going to the dentist.

I was talking to a coworker of mine about having to miss work for two days because of an awful toothache I had which started over the weekend prior to my appointment in your Swampscott office. Amazingly, she had suffered from the same dental anxiety I had due to a similar experience she had as a child. She has been a patient in your office for over three years and could not say enough about you and your wonderful staff.

The woman who answered the phone was very pleasant. I explained my situation and before I could think about it, she had my information in the computer and gave me an appointment for that very afternoon, explaining that the doctor will make every attempt possible to see patients that are in pain immediately. I felt surprisingly calm and comfortable in your waiting room. I was greeted very warmly by your staff and even offered a cup of tea! One of your assistants escorted me to the room and I met you for the first time. I have to tell you that you were wonderful! Your disarming personality and friendly disposition made me feel immediately relaxed. Your approach was to deal with my immediate pain first and then you discussed options for things which I would have never even considered. Being "dental phobic", I never even thought about having "pretty, white, perfect teeth" (It is not even an option when you are petrified to even make an appointment). But as you took care of me in the visits to come, got me out of pain and addressed all of my dental concerns, I really began to trust you and saw that dentistry does not have to be a painful and terrifying experience.

Since the time of my first visit with you, not only am I a healthier, happier dental patient, but I am enjoying my new, white and perfect smile thanks to you and a few porcelain veneers! I would have NEVER, in a million years thought that I could have a beautiful smile like this.

Dr. Khanna has been our family dentist for more than 5 years. In addition to being a highly competent clinician, she has a wonderful way with patients of all ages, including my children and parents. My front tooth wiggled. A hot wave came through me. There is a crown over it. Could it be that the tooth broke? I was desperate to find a dentist I could trust, one who could find a solution to whatever happened in my mouth based on careful examination. That's how I met Dr. Ruhi Khanna who before even starting the work, quietly and patiently examined ALL my gums and teeth, asked thoughtful questions, and gave me different options. Thanks to her knowledge, I have been able to understand the whole procedure of extracting a tooth and putting in an implant. Thanks to her empathetic, warmhearted, but strict ways, I have learned to take care of what she has saved from cavities and infection by working on my upper jaw for almost a year. I wake up today with no bad taste in my mouth, I smile with confidence, and I KNOW that my teeth are healthy. Thanks Dr. Khanna!

Dear Dr Safaei,

I've always had anxiety about dental visits. If I managed to overcome the anxiety long enough to make an appointment, I would spend everyday until that appointment trying to justify why I needed to cancel it. I was referred to Dr. Safaei's office, but no amount of reassurance would convince me that this experience would be any different than any I'd had before.

Recently, I needed a procedure requiring that I return for two additional visits. Frankly, this was my worst nightmare. But a strange thing happened. I was helped by a hygienist named Heidi...We laughed about our lives, talked about music and I even flipped through her ipod while she worked on my teeth. It began to feel more like coffee with a friend than the disaster I felt inside for the duration of the car ride there.

Dr Safaei, herself, did so much to help me get the care I needed. Everyone in the office has been so generous, understanding and patient with me. So, even though I still get nervous and anxious, I know that when I have to go to the office in the future, I'll be with friends and quickly feel relaxed when I remember how unfounded my anxiety is.

Dr. Parisa Safaei has been my dentist for 9 years and I wouldn't go anywhere else for dental care: when you have the best why think of changing. She is extremely knowledgeable, gentle, patient, thorough, efficient, and flexible. She has great technology in the office to bear on any tooth problem. I never have difficulty in getting an appointment that is convenient for me, and if you ever are in pain or have some other urgent tooth matter, you are seen that same day. Secondly, she is professional, talks to you in a respectful manner, cares how you feel, and gives you options for improving your oral health.

I once had the unfortunate fate of needing a root canal, but she has an endodontist who comes to the office as part of her set up, and the procedure was performed right there. No need to look elsewhere or left on your own to find an unknown entity to do the job. It's an all in one place. The support personnel are courteous and helpful, and the assistants are great. She is great at identifying potential trouble before it gets to needing the drill. I actually look forward to my teeth cleaning now that my gums are healthy (they weren't before I came to [Flawless] Dental). Dr. Safaei has competent professionals that work there and are happy to be there. I think it is the culture and tone set by her that makes it a great place for dental care. One important thing that you will notice when coming in: the cleanliness of the rooms and the waiting area. Dr. Safaei is the best and I give her and this operation 5 stars.

I have been a loyal patient of Dr. Safaei's at the Newton office for a while. My family relocated to Charleston, South Carolina in January of this year but I just couldn't imagine going to see someone else!
